Animals & Kids wants every family, donor, and volunteer to be able to read, navigate, and reach us through this site, whatever device or assistive technology they use.

Our goal
We aim for this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content usable for people with disabilities, and following them makes the site better for everyone.
What we have done
- A "Skip to content" link at the top of every page for keyboard and screen reader users.
- Descriptive alternative text on photos of our horses, kids, and programs.
- A clear heading structure on each page so content is easy to scan and navigate.
- Labeled form fields, with required fields clearly marked and error messages that explain what to fix.
- Menus, buttons, the event calendar, and the photo gallery that work with a keyboard.
- A layout that adapts to phones, tablets, and desktop screens, and supports browser zoom.
- Text and background colors chosen for readability.
Known limitations
Some content on this site comes from outside platforms we do not fully control:
- Donation and newsletter forms are provided by Zeffy.
- Event details come from our Google Calendar.
- Social media pages and Amazon wishlists follow the accessibility practices of each company.
If any of this is hard for you to use, contact us and we will help you give, sign up, or get the information another way.
Visiting the farm
If you or your child need accommodations to visit or take part in a program, please tell us when you reach out. We will talk through what is possible at the barn and arena.
